🔵 Pitch Meaning, Pitch Examples, Pitch Vocabulary IELTS CAE CPE ESL British English Pronunciation

Pitch Meaning, Pitch Examples, Pitch Vocabulary IELTS CAE CPE ESL British English Pronunciation hi their students pitch I have a question about please explain
the word pitch now pitch has lots of meanings let’s see the first thing that comes to
mind is a place where you play a game ok so for example a football pitch a
rugby pitch yeah so a pitch is an area of land when
you go to a market maybe you have a pitch it’s an area of
ground where you are allowed to sell in a market yeah so in this market the pictures are
our 8 feet by four feet and it’ll cost you 25 quid okay look at a pitch yeah okay and pitch you could have the pitch of
your voice ok love the law so he had a very
high-pitched voice okay with a low pitch okay see if you can change the pitch of
the sound of ya ok i’m also thinking in American
baseball you have a picture to pitch he pitches
he throws the ball ok so maybe this is going back to the
sports pitch to pitch to throw so pictures not to throw hard usually
two pictures to throw gently yeah so he pitched he pitched the keys
to me and talking about business let’s see you could make a pitch it’s to
make a sales demonstration or sales attempt yeah the salesman made his pitch and all
of the people bought it so this is his pattern the words that he uses it’s the best that there ever is you
need to buy it now they’re going to run out soon it’s terribly chi ok this is the salesman’s pitch maybe it’s related to his tone yeah and
another meaning of pictures well pitch is like tom ok tom is a black our substance that
comes from hydrocarbons or from oil and it’s very thick you put tar on the roads
will pitch is like tar but I think tar comes from hydrocarbons
and I think pitch comes from trees you you they used to use it seal boats yeah okay pitch pine a very nice type of tree ok so pitch the area of land to throw a
ball to throw something to sell the total of your always armed and they’re
probably others that I’ve miss if I have please comment on them anyway a pitch to
pitch if you enjoyed the video give it a rate subscribe to my channel and I’ll
see you soon bye for now

Hi! Thanks for these videos. You're a great teacher!! I hope to be as good as you someday, despite the fact that I'm Spanish. As for "pitch", I think that it is also quite common when it means " to aim a speech or a talk at a particular audience", e.g. "she should pitch her talk at a suitable level for students who are just 15"

So here's a couple you missed, which I'm very sure you are aware of. I never quite realized just how many different ways the word "pitch" is used! Pitch is used as the direction of an angle, like the pitch of a roof, or in aeronautics, controlling the pitch of an aircraft's horizontal angle (Up, down). I think in golf there is a term for pitch, but I'm unsure what it means, as I don't particularly enjoy golf, I have heard it before though. Then you have semi-related things, like "pitcher" which could be a baseball pitcher (the guy who throws the ball) or the container used to dispense liquids. Also, I think "pitch" is indeed a term for a hydrocarbon, I think mostly "bitumen" but I could be wrong. I think pitch was mostly bitumen at least when it was used as a defensive weapon/deterrent in Roman, Greek, and Medieval history. Again, I could be wrong.

What is the meaning of pitch onto here: "“Somebody blundered against me, and I narrowly missed being pitched onto the top of the screw.” I know that “pitch on” means to decide… But that makes no sense here?"
